POSITION TITLE:           ASC CEO/Administrator

 

REPORTS TO:                ASC Board of Directors

 

FLSA STATUS:                Exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for a 15,000 sqft 4 room Ambulatory Surgical Center with planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling all aspects of the operating functions, processes, and staff of the facility while demonstrating the primary goal of providing efficient surgical services that exceed customer expectations and improve clinical and financial operations.

    • Business Operations
    • Personnel Administration
    • Clinical Services
    • Marketing and Planning
    • Quality Improvement
    • Medical Staff Relationships
    • Physical Plan
    • Administrative Representative
    • Personal Development and Professionalism
  • Strategic planning for growth and development of services and staffing to maximize efficiency, capacity, and utilization of facility resources.
  • Regulatory Compliance to ensure consistent operations and the highest level of quality and patient outcomes.
  • Plans for and leads Board of Director/C-Suite , Medical Advisory, and Medical Staff Meetings and ensures compliance with the Facility Bylaws and State and Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures patient, employee, and physician satisfaction along with a culture consistent with Tri-City’s Mission and Standards.

 

SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This position is a safety-sensitive position in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 23-493 (9).

 

TRAVEL

Local travel to other Tri City Cardiology and Surgical Center locations may be required during the business day.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS

Typical direct patient care/office environment:

  • Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach and stretch frequently.
  • Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
  • Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision
  • Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
  • Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of chairs or wheelchairs.
  • Must utilize standard precautions during patient care due to threat of exposure to blood and/or body fluids.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Needs to be able to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on the telephone.
  • Requires use of computer.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience/Licenses Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the health professions, business administration, public administration or other suitable field. Nursing or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a top administrative or management position in the health field. Previous experience in the ASC setting preferred.
  • The Governing Board may determine other qualifications as seen fit.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Ability

Knowledge of standard equipment used in the operating/procedure room.

Working knowledge and experience in a hospital, operating room or ambulatory surgery center.

Thorough knowledge of invasive cardiology/electrophysiology procedures, the scientific principles behind the work and recognizing the human element involved.

Demonstrated critical thinking ability to plan and implement patient care.

Ability to multi-task, completes all tasks in a timely manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills presenting in an effective, clear, calm, friendly and professional manner.

Always demonstrates a high sense of urgency.

Knowledge of basic computer and math skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents.
